North Shore Gymnastics Association’s Xcel and Developmental team programs delivered strong performances at the Gopher Invite held Jan. 9-11 at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
The Xcel Gold team (pictured above) opened the weekend Friday night by earning first place as a team, highlighted by top scores from several gymnasts. Cora Wegleitner, 11, of Hamel captured first place all-around in her division, along with first on bars and third on vault. Landry Vaale, 10, of Hanover earned second place all-around, placing first on vault, third on beam and fourth on floor. Elise Marcouiller, 11, of Maple Plain placed second on vault, and Ellie Wexler, 14, of Plymouth earned second place on beam.
