North Shore gymnasts dominate at Wolfpack Invite

The gymnasts of the North Shore Gymnastics Association’s Xcel teams dominated the 2026 Wolfpack Invite in Waite Park on Feb. 21-22. All three Xcel teams won first-place banners, and several gymnasts earned individual awards.

The weekend began with the Xcel Platinum team. Lauren Wheeler, 11, of Medina led her division, winning first-place all-around honors and individual medals for third place on bars and first place on beam. Addie Rice, 12, of Mound, and Hannah Erickson, 13, of Plymouth, both placed second all around and earned first-place finishes on bars. Ashley Meyer, 12, of Rockford, and Lucy Jones, 13, of Mound, each placed third all around. Meyer also finished first on vault and second on beam, while Jones placed third on vault and beam and second on floor.

The Xcel Diamond team continued North Shore’s strong showing. Maya Wetter, 12, of Delano, placed third on vault. Kate Pohl, 12, of Corcoran, placed second on bars and earned first-place finishes on vault and floor, finishing second all around in her division. Maddie Meyer, 15, of Rockford, recorded a standout meet, placing first all around and finishing in the top two in every event, including second on beam and first on vault, floor and bars.

The Xcel Gold team closed the weekend late Sunday with several season-best performances. Mackenzie Lewis, 12, of Plymouth, and Monroe Decker, 11, of Medina, posted their highest scores of the season. Shiloh Palmer, 11, of Buffalo, placed third on beam, and Grace Barsness, 10, of Medina, finished fourth all around in her division. Cora Wegleitner, 11, of Hamel, and Ellie Wexler, 14, of Plymouth, each placed second all around. Wegleitner also finished second on bars and first on beam. Reese Moslander, 10, of Minnetrista, and Elise Marcouiller, 11, of Maple Plain, each won first place all around in their divisions for the second consecutive meet. Moslander also placed second on bars and first on vault and beam, while Marcouiller placed second on vault and floor and first on bars.
