The North Shore Women’s Developmental Program Level 7–10 athletes delivered a dominant performance at the Tropical Twist meet in Minneapolis on Feb. 14, with all four teams earning team honors and numerous gymnasts bringing home individual medals.
Colbi Shelp, 13, of Maple Plain led the Level 7 team, winning first place all-around in her age group and taking first on bars. Additional first-place finishes were recorded by Harper Takkunen, 13, of Plymouth on vault, and Ava Meyer, 13, of Rockford on beam and floor. Meyer also placed second on vault. Evelynn Belgarde, 12, of Wayzata rounded out the Level 7 competitors with third-place finishes on vault and floor. The Level 7 team earned a second-place team finish following strong performances across the lineup.
The Level 8 team was led by Natalie Reardon, 13, of Wayzata, who earned first-place all-around honors along with first-place finishes on bars and beam and a third-place finish on floor. Kennedy Farley, 14, of Long Lake placed third all-around, winning floor, placing second on vault and third on bars. Ellenora Leland, 13, of Wayzata placed second on floor. The Level 8 team captured first place overall based on the strength of its individual performances.
Both the Level 9 and Level 10 teams also earned first-place team honors. Addison Berg, 16, of Mound led the Level 9 team with first-place finishes on beam and floor, second on bars and third on vault, securing first place all-around. Grace Green, 15, of Chaska placed third all-around with second-place finishes on vault and floor. Lillian Anderson, 16, of Hamburg placed first on bars, while Rachel Smeja, 18, of St. Michael finished second on beam.
At Level 10, Siena Chermak, 18, of Mound placed first on beam and floor and earned first place all-around honors. Her teammate, Luciana Levya, 16, of Mound placed second all-around and won bars.
These teams, along with the Xcel teams, will compete next at the Wolfpack Invite in St. Cloud on Feb. 21–22.
