Gymnasts take 3rd at Arizona’s Dragon’s Torch invite

North Shore Gymnastics athletes competed Feb. 27-March 1 at the 2026 Dragon’s Torch Invitational in Glendale, Arizona.

The Xcel Gold team placed third overall. Reese Moslander, 10, of Minnetrista; Cora Wegleitner, 11, of Hamel; and Ellie Wexler, 14, of Plymouth each finished second all-around in their divisions. Moslander placed first on vault and second on beam. Wegleitner finished second on bars and third on beam and floor. Wexler placed second on beam and third on bars. Elise Marcouiller, 11, of Maple Plain finished second on vault, beam and floor, while Shiloh Palmer, 11, of Buffalo placed third on beam. Mackenzie Lewis, 12, of Plymouth finished third on bars.

The Xcel Platinum team also placed third. Ashley Meyer, 12, of Rockford finished second all-around with a first-place finish on beam and second on vault. Addy Rice, 12, of Mound placed third all-around, finishing first on floor, second on bars and third on vault. Lucy Jones, 13, of Mound placed second on floor, and Hannah Erickson, 13, of Plymouth placed second on bars. Joelle Johnson, 13, of Mound finished third on floor, and Lauren Wheeler, 11, of Independence placed third on vault.

Maddie Meyer, 15, of Rockford competed for the Xcel Diamond team and placed first on bars and second on vault, finishing third all-around. Maya Wetter, 12, of Delano placed fourth on floor. Meyer, Wetter and teammate Kate Pohl each scored 9.4 or higher on floor.

In the developmental levels, the Level 7 team was led by Colbi Shelp, 13, of Maple Plain, who placed first on beam and fourth all-around. Harper Takkunen, 13, of Plymouth placed second on floor. Natalie Reardon, 13, of Wayzata represented the Level 8 team with a second-place finish on floor, and Kennedy Farley, 14, of Long Lake placed third on beam and third all-around.

The Level 9 team finished second overall. Madelyn Hallet, 16, of Minnetrista placed first all-around and also finished first on vault and second on beam and floor. Addison Berg, 16, of Mound placed second all-around and first on floor while also finishing third on vault, beam and bars. Lillian Anderson, 16, of Hamburg placed third all-around and second on vault and bars. Grace Green, 15, of Chaska placed fourth all-around with a second-place finish on bars and third on vault.

Level 10 competitors also earned medals. Luciana Levya, 16, of Mound placed first on bars and fourth on beam, while Siena Chermak, 18, of Mound placed third on floor.

North Shore will host its final women’s meet of the season, the Shamrock Shake, March 7-8 at Shakopee High School.

North Shore Gymnastics Association in Orono was founded in 1974 and is a nonprofit organization.
