The North Shore Gymnastics Association boy’s team competed Feb. 28-March 1 at the 2026 MIGS Invitational at Humboldt High School in St. Paul.
Competition began Saturday morning with the Level 5 team. In the Level 5 Junior division, Máté Toth, 9, of Orono delivered a standout performance, finishing first in the floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars and horizontal bar. He also placed second in the vault, earning the all-around championship in his division.
Riley Barton, 11, of Eden Prairie also had a strong meet, placing first in the pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. He finished second in the floor exercise to earn the all-around championship in his division.
Robbie Green, 13, of Chaska finished first in the floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. His performance also earned him the all-around championship in his Level 5 division.
The performances of the three Level 5 gymnasts helped the team secure a first-place finish.
The Level 4 team competed Sunday morning. Owen Perez, 9, of Eden Prairie placed first on the pommel horse and tied for first on the vault. He also placed second on the parallel bars and horizontal bar, tied for second on the still rings and finished third on the floor exercise. Perez earned second place in the all-around competition for his division.
Harrison Bergstrom, 10, of Orono placed first on the floor exercise, third on the vault and tied for third on the pommel horse. He finished fourth on the parallel bars and fifth on both the horizontal bar and still rings, placing third in the all-around competition for his division.
James Christianson, 11, of Long Lake placed first on the floor exercise, second on the parallel bars and tied for second on the pommel horse. He finished fourth on the vault and fifth on both the still rings and horizontal bar, earning third place in the all-around competition in his division.
The Level 4 team finished fourth overall. Leif Nelson, 11, of Delano, and Decon May, 8, of Delano also competed.
The Level 3 team competed in the final session of the meet. Brooks Coen, 6, of Orono placed second on the pommel horse, tied for second on the floor exercise and finished fifth on the horizontal bar. He placed fourth in the all-around competition.
Tony Hess, 6, of Plymouth tied for third on the floor exercise. Everett Lemke finished fifth on both the floor exercise and pommel horse and tied for fifth on the vault. Sam Loeck, 8, of Plymouth, and Grant Serum, 7, of Lester Prairie also competed.
The team’s next meet is the Minnesota state meet March 14-15 in St. Cloud.
