The North Shore Gymnastics Men’s team traveled to Des Moines to compete in the 2026 Emerge Academy Invitational held Jan. 10-11.
Competition began Saturday morning with the Level 5 team. In the Junior A division, Mate Toth, 9, of Orono excelled, finishing first on the floor exercise, still rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar, and tying for second on the pommel horse. His performance earned him the all-around championship in the Junior A division. Riley Barton, 11, of Eden Prairie also had a strong showing, placing first on the horizontal bar, second on the pommel horse and still rings, fourth on the parallel bars and fifth on the vault. He finished third in the all-around standings for the Junior B division. Robbie Green, 13, of Chaska tied for first on the pommel horse, placed second on the still rings and vault, and third on the horizontal bar, earning third place in the all-around competition in the senior division. The combined performances helped the team place second overall, just tenths of a point behind first.
