Summer is the mother of Cora, a neurodivergent child who thrives when she can move, explore, and engage her body in sensory-rich activities. Like many parents, Summer was searching for a safe, structured, and supportive environment where her daughter could not only participate but belong.
“Cora needed something active jumping, spinning, moving. We heard about North Shore through the community and started with preschool open gym. She loved it.”
From those early visits, North Shore became a familiar and trusted place. In September of last year, Cora officially began taking classes and her passion for gymnastics quickly grew.
An Experience That Exceeded Expectations
Cora was placed with Coach Megan in a preschool class, and it was a match made in heaven!
“Megan accepted Cora for who she is. She saw the positives, focused on what Cora does well, and built a connection with her first. It wasn’t just about gymnastics; it was about seeing her as a whole person.”
This relationship-first approach allowed Cora to feel safe, challenged, and celebrated. Megan tailored instruction to Cora’s ability, giving her space to be herself while encouraging growth.
Now, Coach Jodi is continuing that same thoughtful approach, training a new coach directly in Cora’s class to ensure consistency and understanding of her individual needs.
“The coaches here truly look out for the best interest of the child. It fills my mama heart to the brim.”
For Summer and her daughter Cora, NSGA is more than an extracurricular activity, it’s a place that understands, nurtures, and elevates children as individuals. Through thoughtful coaching, intentional support, and a focus on relationships, Cora is not only thriving in gymnastics—she’s thriving as herself.
“It’s perfect for Cora. So welcoming. Inclusive. It’s a happy place, not just for the kids, but for the adults too.”
Summer sees North Shore as more than a gymnastics gym, it’s a place of joy, trust, and growth where kids are seen, known, and loved.
