The 2025 Minnesota State Championships, held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis this past weekend, brought out the best of the best from teams all over the state. It was a weekend full of nerves, excitement and tough competition, but the North Shore competitive team girls embraced the challenge and ultimately many individual state champions and top 3 teams were born.
The Level 6 girls had an early start Friday morning, but they wasted no time against teams three times their size and brought home a very impressive second place team award (out of 28 teams!). Individual accomplishments included Calla Larson (11, Sartell), who earned a trip to the podium with third place on Beam, while teammate Elisabeth Rosha (11, Independence) wowed the judges with her second place Floor routine. Colbi Shelp (12, Maple Plain) made multiple contributions to the team score, taking third on Vault, third on Floor, second All around and topped it off with state champion on Bars. Evelynn Belgarde (12, Wayzata) had an outstanding day placing second on Bars, and earning state champion bragging rights on Beam, Floor, and All around.
