North Shore gymnasts impress at state meet

The North Shore Gymnastics Association boys’ team made an impressive showing at the Minnesota State Championships held at North St. Paul High School on March 15th and 16th.

Saturday morning started with the Level 6 Junior Elite category. Hudson Arvizo (10, Maple Plain) and Cable Farley (11, Long Lake) showcased exceptional talent and dedication. Arvizo claimed second place in the Floor and Parallel Bars, along with third place finishes in the Pommel Horse, Still Rings, and Vault, earning him third in the All-Around competition. Farley also excelled, taking fourth in the Floor, Pommel Horse, Vault, and Parallel Bars, while finishing fifth on the Still Rings and Horizontal Bar. He rounded out his weekend with a fifth-place finish in the All-Around competition.

In the next session, the Level 9 team delivered an outstanding performance at the championship meet! Owen Johnson (14, Delano) dominated with a remarkable second place on the Parallel Bars, third on the Still Rings, and sixth in the All-Around. Oliver Berg (15, Mound) secured a solid sixth place on the Parallel Bars, while Tobin Dykoski (14, Minnetrista) showcased his skills, finishing third on the Vault and fifth on the Horizontal Bars. Peter Davis (16, Minneapolis) made a strong impact with a fourth place on the Still Rings. Collectively, these impressive results propelled the Level 9 team to a well-earned second place in the team awards!
